Having worked for both Mining House and Contractor, various commodities including Gold, Platinum, Coal, Nickel, Copper and Chrome at different depths and conditions, using both conventional and mechanical/trackless methods, including extensive shaft sinking and rehabilitation experience, he is used to managing more than one major project/contract in excess of R740m concurrently and profitably. He’s been closely involved in successfully negotiating, managing, executing and handing over numerous EPC and EPCM contracts based on FIDIC, NEC and Client specific Contractual Conditions for more than 15 years.

Skill area of competence: Successfully involved and responsible for turnarounds, as well as implementation of new methods and technology safely. Long track record of skillfully managing multi million rand contracts, generating extensive cost savings by either making processes more efficient or through innovative thinking. Huge amount of knowledge and experience in Mining and Engineering Contracts and Projects. Strong financial background with excellent contract management skills as well as extensive project management experience. In a management role for more than 20 years of which 15 have been in senior management roles, specifically managing big and complex contracts working with diverse and multicultural workforce’s.

Turned a R 2.6 million cash negative contract around to show a profit in excess of R 1.1 million after taking it over; Built good trust relations with Clients resulting in an increase of Scope of work from R 11 million to R 20.4 million; Completed a project without a lost time injury or dressing case in full period I was appointed; Successfully completed an R 120 million plus Contract in the Secunda area; Employee of the year award – 2007; Promoted to Operational Director in June 2010. Leading Strategic team tasked with Innovation.
