1. Primary purpose of current/most recent position:

My main purpose is to ensure designs are within clients brief and budget, ensure implementation is as per design,specification and within contract period. Always to ensure clients interest are met and protected.

2. Core elements or functions that must operate effectively in order to achieve primary purpose:

Clearly get client or architects brief of the project scope and requirements
Carry out Preliminary design. This helps in identifying site challenges in good time, ensuring proposed design is within budget and resolving any arising issue
Prepare detailed design and documentation that will define project scope
Tendering based on detailed documentation. Tenderers should be technicaly qualified with relevant experience and have good truck records. Award should be based on how competitive ones bid is and also consider if technical specifications have been met
Implementation and supervision. Constant supervision is mandatory to ensure quality control, design standards are met and budget not exceeded

I have good technical skills and a strong sense of self drive
which makes me have a positive liking for challenging work. I am a result driven
and detail oriented engineer with excellent team management skills. I work with
great passion and energy in any assigned work to meet set goals and to achieve the best results. I have a strong adherence to safety with exceptional work ethics.

5. Key responsibilities and accountabilities of ideal position:

Develop design concept and guide implementation.
Monitor team operations to ensure vision, goals and ethics of the firm are adhered to.
Identify team weakness and develop strategy on how to improve them.
Be up to date in new technologies and sharing the same with my team.

6. Skill area of competence:

I have 10 years’ experience of working as an Electrical Engineer in the building services industry. Over this period have developed good technical skills, excellent management and supervision skills, dispute resolution and familiarized myself with Local and international Electrical codes of Practise which include, Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS), British Standards Institute (BS) and America Standards Institute (ASTI; UL – Listings, NFPA) amongst others.

7. Achievements: 

I was assigned the role of Lead Electrical Engineer in a power plant project we are working with multinational companies. The project deliverable and scope have been of higher caliber than our normally. Through research and consultation with field experts, I have manged to offer solutions and guidance to our team to meet project team expectations.
