Currently the Country Manager for the East African Community (EAC) countries (Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi and South Sudan), his primary purpose is overall responsibility for all aspects of the business operations within this region; directly responsible for the region’s profit, revenue, cash, quality and safety targets.

Apart from general management and sales experience, he has gained international project management and design experience on a variety of projects such as resurfacing operational airport runways, mining infrastructure upgrades, water and natural gas distribution, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) storage upgrades, brewery infrastructure and the official residences of country presidents. He has experience in design management that covers civil, structural, mechanical and electrical disciplines and  includes 3D CAD drawings, 3D coordination of building engineering, and 3D modelling of industrial facilities.

Achievements: One of his recent projects, a US$20m civil infrastructure project for a greenfield SABMiller brewery in South West Uganda was awarded the Best International Project at the 2013 Consulting Engineering South Africa (CESA) awards. The contract was executed under a FIDIC Red Book Contract. Other project experience ranges from 10.5 MW heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) installations in South Africa to the commissioning and validation of a US$23 million pharmaceutical facility in the United Kingdom. Although he has a strong African track record, he has been exposed to some of the most advanced European project management, construction and installation techniques, as well as safe working systems with stringent health and safety standards.

Primary purpose of current/most recent position:

I am currently the Country Manager for the East African Community (EAC) countries (Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi and South Sudan). My primary purpose is overall responsibility for all aspects of the business operations within this region. The business structure consists of three offices in Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda.

Core elements or functions that must operate effectively in order to achieve primary purpose:

I am directly responsible for the EAC regions profit, revenue, cash, quality and safety targets. Recruiting and managing staff along with the associated performance monitoring, mentoring and training form part of my duties.
Operational success is achieved by driving positive change through all projects with the aim of ensuring that they are conducted safely and in accordance with approved work instructions, procedures and policies.

General management roles include:
• Establishing contact and developing public and private sector business opportunities.
• Developing and maintaining key client relationships
• Awareness of all public and private investment projects in the East African Region.
• Reviewing of opportunities and developing bidding strategy for each opportunity.
• Identification and management of risks across the region.
• Monthly reporting to the Regional Director with direct involvement in regional management meetings
• Ensuring that all regional projects adhere to Business Procedures and Management System.
• Implementation of sound principles in project management, risk management and financial management
• Coordinating multi-disciplinary teams and projects;
